Policy Hacker – AI, Automation & Data

About the role

We are looking for an AI‑first “Policy Hacker” to redesign how Startin.LV monitors, researches and represents policy. This hybrid, full‑time position blends strong policy judgement with hands‑on AI, automation and data engineering to build the organisation’s policy engine.

Key responsibilities

• Develop policy monitoring tools that track developments across Parliament, ministries, the European Commission and other institutions.
• Create research and briefing workflows that deliver high‑quality analysis in days instead of months.
• Build AI‑assisted policy drafting tools that combine international comparisons, data, prior positions and trade‑offs.
• Maintain living profiles of members, partners and stakeholders to connect policymakers with the right experts quickly.
• Design an organisational knowledge base capturing past positions, arguments, commitments and evidence.
• Update and verify the national startup database to support policy work and public communication.
• Implement verification and quality‑control systems within AI workflows.
• Identify repetitive tasks and automate them to increase team efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience building AI‑supported workflows that are operational and deliver value.
• Hands‑on experience with automation platforms such as Make or n8n, and integrating APIs, databases and documents.
• Genuine interest in policy, regulation or economics and the ability to judge arguments.
• Willingness to demonstrate a previously built system during the interview.
