Collections Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a curious, motivated and dependable Collections Specialist to join our Global Business Services (GBS) Collections team. You will support healthy cash flow by working with customers and internal partners across multiple countries, understanding payment behaviour and helping resolve issues that may delay payments.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively manage accounts receivable collections through customer contact (email, phone) to ensure timely payments.
• Investigate, resolve and, when necessary, escalate customer disputes, including account reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
• Analyze customer payment behaviour to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver regular collections reports with clear insights and commentary.
• Maintain accurate customer master data, activity notes and documentation in systems.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Credit, Sales, Customer Service, Cash Application) to resolve issues efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls and support audit requests.
• Contribute to process improvements, standardisation initiatives and keep process documentation up‑to‑date.
• Escalate complex or high‑risk issues to relevant stakeholders as needed.

Required profile

• Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong sense of responsibility with effective time‑management and ability to meet deadlines.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive mindset, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Positive attitude with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
• Good computer skills and proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
• Education in finance, economics or related field and/or experience in finance, GBS environment or customer service is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Italian and/or German language is a plus.
• Experience working with SAP is a plus.

• Monthly gross salary ranging from 1,240 € to 1,475 € depending on skills and experience.
