Finance & Accounting Lead – Business Central, AI Agents & Latvian Tax

About the role

We are a Latvia‑based startup building a finance function that blends accurate accounting, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and practical AI automation. You will own the entire accounting process while configuring the system and leveraging AI agents to increase efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping, AP/AR, invoicing, expense accounting and bank reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing, balance‑sheet reconciliations, accruals and supporting documentation.
• Set up, configure and maintain Business Central (chart of accounts, posting groups, dimensions, VAT, bank accounts, periods, workflows).
• Lead the full migration from QuickBooks to Business Central, including data extraction, mapping, cleansing, trial imports, validation and go‑live.
• Prepare and manage Latvian tax and statutory reporting (VAT, corporate income tax, payroll obligations, VID/EDS).
• Handle international customers, suppliers, foreign currencies and cross‑border transactions.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasts, budgets, runway monitoring and management reporting.
• Configure, instruct and supervise AI agents for document processing, transaction preparation, matching, reconciliation and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience performing the full accounting cycle for companies in one or more European countries, with knowledge of Latvian tax requirements.
• Hands‑on experience setting up and configuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and executing a complete system migration.
• Ability to translate business requirements into accounting configurations and verify postings, reconciliations and reports.
• Experience using AI agents or AI‑supported automation in finance, supervising outputs and handling errors.
• Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills, independent work habits and clear communication with the founder.
