Finance & Accounting Lead – Business Central, AI Agents & Latvian Tax

About the role

We are a Latvia‑based startup building a finance function that blends accurate accounting, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and practical AI automation. You will own the end‑to‑end accounting process while configuring the system and leveraging AI agents to increase efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping, AP/AR, invoicing, expense accounting and bank reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing, balance‑sheet reconciliations and accruals.
• Configure and maintain Business Central (chart of accounts, posting groups, VAT, dimensions, workflows, etc.).
• Lead the full migration from QuickBooks to Business Central, including data extraction, mapping, cleansing, trial imports and go‑live.
• Prepare and file Latvian tax and statutory reports (VAT, corporate tax, payroll obligations, VID/EDS).
• Manage cash‑flow forecasts, budgets, runway monitoring and management reporting.
• Define, supervise and verify AI agents that handle document processing, transaction matching, reconciliation and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing the full accounting cycle for companies in one or more European countries, with knowledge of Latvian tax requirements (advantageous).
• Hands‑on experience setting up and configuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and executing a complete system migration.
• Ability to translate business requirements into accounting configurations and validate postings and reports.
• Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills, capable of investigating gaps in historical records.
• Independent work style, ownership of deadlines and clear communication with the founder.
