Transaction Monitoring Analyst (Junior)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our Global Anti‑Money Laundering & Sanctions Investigations team. Based in Riga, you will work in a hybrid model, spending three days a week in the office and up to two days remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily automated AML and sanctions transaction alerts generated by the firm’s screening systems.
• Investigate potential suspicious activity, prepare internal reports and use case‑management tools to document findings.
• Own individual alert cases and ensure investigations are completed within required time‑frames.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and financial‑crime operations teams to resolve complex cases and enhance security measures.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging fraud risks, and new investigative techniques.
• Ensure all investigative work complies with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in an AML compliance role within financial services, FinTech or a start‑up environment.
• Good knowledge of UK and EU AML/Financial‑Crime regulations.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• University degree in a relevant field is preferred but not essential.

Required skills

• Understanding of AML/Financial‑Crime regulatory frameworks (UK, EU).
• Experience with transaction monitoring and case‑management systems.
• Proficiency in English (business level).
