Tech Lead – Java Backend for Payments & Cash Management

About the role

We are looking for a Tech Lead to drive the design and implementation of critical backend services for our Payments and Cash Management engineering area. You will work on modernising cash‑management capabilities for corporate customers across the Baltics, combining hands‑on coding with technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build Java/Spring Boot micro‑services supporting complex banking flows.
• Create REST APIs and event‑driven integrations using Apache Kafka.
• Lead technical decisions, review code and architecture together with architects and developers.
• Collaborate with product owners, platform teams, business stakeholders and external vendors.
• Ensure reliability, security, observability and production‑readiness of services deployed on AWS.
• Modernise legacy systems into a cloud‑ready, maintainable architecture.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior backend engineer with strong Java and Spring Boot expertise.
• Ability to lead a team technically while staying hands‑on.
• Experience with event‑driven design, REST APIs and integration patterns.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced banking or payments environment.
