System Architect

About the role

Riga Stradiņš University is seeking a full‑time System Architect to lead the design and evolution of its core information systems. Based on‑site in Riga, you will ensure the university’s technical landscape remains robust, scalable and aligned with strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement information system architecture in line with established principles.
• Lead improvement projects, evaluating new solutions for compatibility with the existing ecosystem.
• Monitor system modularity, component quality, integration and data‑exchange standards.
• Identify optimisation opportunities, define development directions and drive their implementation.
• Collaborate closely with developers, technical teams and business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Higher education degree in IT, data analytics or a related field.
• Significant experience in information‑systems development and implementation.
• Proven knowledge of system‑architecture approaches such as API‑first, cloud/hybrid infrastructures and microservices.
• Fluent in Latvian and English to work with local and international partners.

Required skills

• Microsoft ecosystem: SQL Server, Office 365, Azure, C#.
• API and backend solution principles.
• Service integration, authentication and security.
