OSS Automation Engineer

About the role

AST SpaceMobile is building a global cellular broadband network in space. The OSS Automation Engineer will own the lifecycle automation for the network and ground‑segment, turning manual coordination into fully automated operational processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy automation processes on the AST OSS platform, including provisioning, configuration management, fault and alarm handling, and cross‑domain orchestration.
• Translate architectural specifications, ICDs and functional requirements into clean, well‑tested production code.
• Write modular, maintainable software in Python or Go, with full documentation and code comments.
• Create and maintain integration tests, regression suites and performance benchmarks.
• Participate in design and code reviews, and support system‑level integration testing.
• Contribute to agile sprint planning, backlog grooming and milestone delivery.
• Maintain technical documentation such as component specs, API contracts, test results and runbooks.
• Collaborate with internal teams to clarify requirements and ensure operational readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in network or business‑process automation within a live‑network environment.
• Proven ability to build production automation/orchestration workflows that execute real operational processes.
