Head of ICT Risk & AI

About the role

Swedbank is looking for a senior leader to head its ICT Risk & AI function. You will guide a high‑performing team of risk professionals, shape the Group’s approach to technology, cyber, data and AI risks, and act as a trusted advisor to senior executives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a specialised risk team.
• Define and strengthen the Group’s technology, cyber, data and AI risk management framework.
• Provide independent challenge and advice to senior decision‑makers.
• Influence strategic technology investments, transformation programmes and emerging business opportunities.
• Oversee risk assessments and independent reviews across the organisation.
• Build strong relationships with Business Areas, Group Functions and control functions.
• Interpret and implement evolving regulatory requirements such as DORA.
• Monitor emerging technology and AI risks and evolve control objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing teams.
• 10+ years in ICT Risk, Technology Risk, Cybersecurity, Information Security or Operational Risk.
• Strong understanding of modern technology environments, digital transformation and emerging risks.
• Experience in the financial sector or another highly regulated industry.
• Solid knowledge of governance, risk and control frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence executive decisions.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as DORA, information security and operational resilience standards.
• Excellent analytical judgement and communication skills.
• University degree in a relevant discipline and professional fluency in English.
