Harness Engineer – R&D, Riga

About the role

Redwire Defense Tech is looking for a motivated Harness Engineer to join its R&D team at the modern production facility in Riga. You will be responsible for designing and documenting wiring harnesses that support our autonomous UAVs and electro‑optical surveillance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Create wiring schematics, define routing, lengths and connection points.
• Select appropriate wires, connectors, terminals, insulation and protective materials.
• Produce mechanical drawings and manufacturing documentation for harness production and assembly.
• Ensure designs meet mechanical, electrical, installation and manufacturability requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and production engineers on prototype development and production rollout.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor or Fusion 360.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for wiring harnesses.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in mechanical engineering.
