Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will ensure that all accounting processes are executed accurately and on time, in line with Latvian legal requirements and group standards. The role is responsible for delivering high‑quality financial information, overseeing tax and statistical reporting, and leading the accounting team to support both the company and the wider Amber Beverage Group.

Key responsibilities

• Organise day‑to‑day accounting records and guarantee compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing cycles.
• Prepare and submit tax and statistical reports for the Latvian entities.
• Participate in audits of individual and consolidated financial statements.
• Produce financial reports and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage intercompany settlements across the Group.
• Monitor daily cash flow and support liquidity management.
• Contribute to medium‑term financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Approve accounts receivable/payable schedules and review credit‑limit exceptions.
• Identify and drive accounting process optimisation and automation together with IT.
• Support ERP implementation, development and integration projects.
• Lead, develop and organise the accounting team, ensuring balanced workload and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification and several years of experience in a senior accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of Latvian accounting standards, tax legislation and reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team, fostering high performance and collaboration.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Effective communication skills to advise managers across the Group.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems implementation and integration.
