Credit Controller

About the role

This is an opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in credit control. You’ll gain experience in operating and reporting on credit processes, working closely with senior credit controllers to ensure optimal debt control, and collaborating with Customer Operations and other teams to maintain strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with customers in a professional and timely manner to collect overdue payments and outstanding debts.
• Respond to and resolve queries from merchants.
• Create and distribute reports on outstanding debt and incoming payments.
• Allocate customer payments and calculate up‑to‑date account balances.
• Use business judgement to recommend credit notes or payment plans, raising them with management for approval.
• Manage payment plans and support account reconciliations.

Required profile

• Very customer‑service oriented.
• Comfortable assisting in resolving billing and credit queries.
• Previous work experience or study in Finance/Accounting or a degree requiring high numeracy.
• Self‑starter who can work with minimal guidance.
• Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• Ambitious and enthusiastic to develop a career in Credit/Finance.
• Previous experience in credit control is a bonus but not essential.

Required skills

• Intermediate or higher proficiency in Excel.
• Google Docs and Google Sheets.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce (bonus).
• Familiarity with Looker (bonus).
• Experience with billing platforms (bonus).
• Knowledge of Docusign CLM (bonus).
