Backend Engineer (Python/FastAPI) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable APIs using Python and FastAPI. The role also involves developing modern frontend applications with React, Next.js, and TypeScript, and integrating LLMs and AI‑driven workflows into production systems. You will work remotely with a senior engineering team to deliver high‑quality features.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Develop frontend applications with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Integrate large language models (LLMs) and AI workflows into production.
• Implement backend optimizations, including concurrency patterns and performance improvements.
• Write, optimize, and debug SQL queries; contribute to data modeling.
• Improve platform scalability, reliability, and performance across the full stack.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues to ensure stability.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following best engineering practices.
• Collaborate closely with a remote senior team to deliver features efficiently.

Required profile

• Strong experience building frontend applications using React (Next.js and TypeScript preferred).
• Proficiency in Python for backend development, preferably with FastAPI.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and performance optimization.
• Experience writing and debugging SQL queries.
• Familiarity with APIs and service‑oriented architectures.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and effective communication.
• Ownership mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
