Backend Engineer – Java

About the role

Mintos is looking for a Backend Engineer specialized in Java to strengthen its internal payment infrastructure and support millions of European investors. You will design, build and operate event‑driven services that connect core systems with investor‑facing tools, ensuring reliable, real‑time data flows.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end backend features and integrations, from specification to production deployment and monitoring.
• Maintain reliable message‑driven processing with at‑least‑once delivery, deduplication, retries and circuit breaking.
• Design and implement new Java services using clean, hexagonal architecture.
• Write comprehensive automated tests and enforce architecture rules on every merge.
• Contribute to RFCs, review peer designs and document contracts and integration behavior.
• Collaborate daily with engineers, product owners and cross‑functional teams to solve investor problems.

Required profile

• Proven experience building production‑grade backend services in Java.
• Strong understanding of event‑driven, message‑oriented architectures.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and automated tests.
• Experience working in agile, cross‑functional teams.
