Medical Partner – Oncology and Neurology

About the role

Roche is looking for a Medical Partner in Riga to lead the medical agenda, currently focused on oncology and neurology but not limited to these disease areas. The role is a therapeutic/disease area expert who supports teams in relevant areas, keeps medical decisions independent of promotional objectives and joins therapeutic area teams as needed. It sits within a cross-functional team working with key stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the medical part of the integrated strategy and shape a scientifically sound, differentiated value story across key disease areas.
• Collect, analyse and translate external scientific and clinical practice insights (including patient perspectives) into actionable recommendations for local teams.
• Provide medical expertise and customer insights to local teams, help shape medical practice and drive adoption of medical innovations.
• Give expert opinion on scientific medical information, adhering to Roche SOPs and local and international regulations.
• Build relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals and academic institutions, and plan and run scientific expert meetings and advisory boards.
• Support the development of reimbursement dossiers, implement compassionate use programmes and manage medical information enquiries.
• Oversee medical training and education initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD) or advanced degree in life sciences (PharmD, life science PhD) with a strong clinical/scientific background.
• Professional experience in medical affairs or clinical development in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Strong knowledge of local regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Fluent spoken and written Latvian and English; CV submitted in English.

Required skills

• Understanding of clinical trial design, interpretation and biostatistics.
• Knowledge of data generation in clinical trials, IIS and RWE programmes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, and basic AI literacy.

The salary starts from 4,800 EUR gross per month, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.
