About the role

We are seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead application modernization initiatives for an AI‑driven mainframe modernization practice. The role combines deep GCP architecture expertise with the ability to translate legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET solutions while engaging directly with client stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and drive the re‑architecture of legacy and mainframe‑class applications onto Google Cloud Platform.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams in a fully GCP‑based environment.
• Communicate with client stakeholders to convey business criticality of modernized systems.
• Apply AI engineering practices such as harness engineering and spec‑driven design.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with GCP.
• Proven track record in application modernization and re‑architecting legacy systems into Java, Go, or .NET on cloud platforms.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, including BigQuery and pipeline design.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing project delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices, requirements gathering, and test‑driven design.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
