Tech Lead – Java Backend Engineer

About the role

Luminor Group is looking for a Tech Lead to drive the design and delivery of critical banking systems within its Payments and Cash Management Engineering area. You will own complex backend services, guide a team of developers, and stay hands‑on with code when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Java 21+ / Spring Boot 3+ back‑end services for payment and cash‑management flows.
• Create REST APIs and event‑driven integrations using Apache Kafka for asynchronous communication.
• Build reliable processes around account lifecycle, payment initiation, routing, validation, balances, and statements.
• Work with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Helm and GitLab CI/CD to ensure cloud‑ready, production‑grade deployments.
• Maintain data consistency and auditability using PostgreSQL and Oracle databases.
• Modernise legacy capabilities, make technical decisions focused on security, resilience and operational stability.
• Lead technical design reviews, mentor developers and collaborate with architects, product owners, vendors and business stakeholders.

• Comfortable working with stakeholders, vendors and cross‑functional teams while staying deep in implementation details.
