Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer – GCP

About the role

We are seeking a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to design, build and operate GoMining's cloud platform on Google Cloud. The role focuses on GCP, Kubernetes, automation and ensuring the reliability and security of production services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operate GCP infrastructure including GKE, VMs, networking, load balancers and managed services.
• Manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, creating modules, handling state and preventing configuration drift.
• Operate Kubernetes clusters: upgrades, autoscaling, network policies and resource allocation.
• Build CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using GitLab CI, Flux or Argo CD, enabling automated builds, deployments and rollbacks.
• Implement observability with metrics, logs, tracing and alerting, and define SLIs/SLOs with engineering teams.
• Handle production incidents, root‑cause analysis and remediation of recurring failures.
• Enforce least‑privilege access, secure secrets management, backup processes and disaster‑recovery testing.
• Assist engineering teams with health checks, telemetry and deployment procedures, and optimise cloud cost and usage.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience operating production Kubernetes environments and GCP services (GKE, Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage).
• Proficiency with Terraform (modules, remote state, CI integration) and Linux administration (Debian/Ubuntu).
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes concepts (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, Ingress, RBAC, NetworkPolicy, autoscaling).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) and applying GitOps principles.
• Solid scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Cloud Monitoring.
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL, Redis and RabbitMQ operations.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices (least privilege, service accounts, secrets rotation).
