Senior Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to lead our AP function within a dynamic Shared Service Centre in Riga. You will ensure accurate, timely processing of vendor invoices while driving continuous improvement across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee AP transaction processing, guaranteeing accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls.
• Monitor workflow approvals and review postings performed by AP accountants.
• Manage day‑to‑day AP activities to meet agreed deadlines and service levels.
• Perform and review account reconciliations and resolve complex vendor invoice discrepancies.
• Identify, propose, and implement process improvements for efficiency, standardisation, and automation.
• Maintain AP procedures, manuals, and end‑user documentation.
• Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation.
• Build strong relationships with vendors, sales companies, and internal departments.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (or current studies).
• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in a Shared Service Centre.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently under pressure.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• SAP Financial Accounting (SAP FI) – explicit experience required.
