Senior Accountant - Fuel Accounting

About the role

Circle K Business Centre in Riga, Latvia, part of the Global Finance organisation, is looking for a Senior Accountant for its fuel accounting function. The role covers the full accounting and reporting cycle for Circle K's European operations, including inventory accounting for Circle K Energy Trading SA on a monthly, quarterly and year-end basis. The position is permanent and based in Riga.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely inventory accounting and reporting for Circle K Energy Trading SA
• Manage operational issues, profit or loss effects and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Maintain close dialogue with the business unit and stakeholders across Europe
• Ensure internal controls comply with the Group's guidelines
• Take part in improvement projects in fuel accounting, fuel valuation and fuel reporting
• Develop and maintain solutions to financial tasks in Microsoft Excel

Required profile

• University degree in economics or finance
• Solid experience (3+ years) in accounting or audit, preferably in an international environment
• Fluency in English
• Experience with IFRS, including IAS2 and IFRS16
• Valid EU/EEA work permit required; relocation assistance is not provided

Required skills

• General ledger functions and month-end/year-end close
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• Background in general accounting systems (Oracle JDE and Longview are an advantage)
• Strong analytical and accounting skills
