SDD Architect

About the role

We are looking for an SDD Architect to lead the design and governance of an automated Solution/Software Design Documentation generation platform. The role focuses on turning repository metadata, TechDocs, and IaC outputs into accurate, traceable, standards‑compliant documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the SDD document generation engine that creates documentation from Backstage entities, TechDocs, and IaC module outputs.
• Define template structures and content models that meet enterprise architecture requirements.
• Design metadata consumption models across Azure, VMware, and Network domains.
• Establish versioning, review, and approval workflows ensuring traceability to source catalog entities.
• Collaborate with Lead Backstage Engineer, Integration Architect, and Cloud/Network architects to align data flows.
• Provide architectural governance during implementation and validate documentation quality during adoption.

Required profile

• Proven experience building documentation‑generation or automated reporting systems from structured metadata.
• Deep knowledge of Backstage TechDocs (or comparable documentation‑as‑code tools).
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture documentation standards and SDD practices.
• Experience defining metadata contracts across catalog, IaC, and ITSM systems.
• Strong collaboration skills across Backstage, infrastructure, and integration workstreams.
