Merchant Onboarding & Due Diligence Officer

About the role

Paynt is seeking a meticulous Merchant Onboarding & Ongoing Due Diligence Officer to lead KYC, risk assessment and compliance processes for its e‑commerce and POS/SoftPOS merchants. You will ensure that merchant profiles meet internal policies, scheme regulations and regulatory standards while supporting the growth of the fintech’s merchant network.

Key responsibilities

• Review merchant business profiles against company procedures, acceptance policies and card‑scheme regulations.
• Conduct KYC and comprehensive due‑diligence activities for new and existing merchants.
• Perform risk assessments of merchants’ business models and update files accordingly.
• Monitor merchant alerts, manage change requests and keep records up‑to‑date.
• Liaise with Relationship Managers to collect complete application packages and advise on required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Card Scheme recommendations and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in team projects aimed at streamlining onboarding processes.
• Utilise third‑party monitoring solutions for ongoing merchant surveillance.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in acquiring, merchant onboarding and due‑diligence reviews.
• University degree.
• Fluent English with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
