Java Tech Lead – Cards Domain

About the role

Join Luminor as a Java Tech Lead in the Cards domain, where you will guide a team of developers to deliver high‑quality, cloud‑native banking applications. You will shape the technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with business and IT stakeholders across the Pan‑Baltic region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Java developers, enforcing best practices and coding standards.
• Design and implement scalable Java applications and the Cards API layer.
• Collaborate with business units to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, drive standardisation, and modernise legacy systems.
• Provide high‑level effort estimations and create technical documentation.
• Identify and mitigate architectural and technical risks.
• Ensure smooth communication with IT operations, external vendors, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering Java applications in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong knowledge of Java 21+, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot 3+.
• Hands‑on experience building cloud‑native solutions (AWS preferred, Azure acceptable).
• Deep understanding of microservice architecture and software development methodologies.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written, for Pan‑Baltic collaboration.
