Head of Accounting

About the role

The Customization Group is seeking a Head of Accounting to take operational ownership of accounting for its international group. Based in Riga, you will work closely with the VP Finance, overseeing single accounts under German GAAP, consolidated accounts under German GAAP and IFRS, and the overall consolidation process.

Key responsibilities

• Own single accounts for German entities under German GAAP and consolidated accounts under German GAAP and IFRS.
• Lead the group-wide consolidation, manage intercompany processes, and ensure accurate bookkeeping for domestic subsidiaries.
• Act as a sparring partner for foreign subsidiaries, providing guidance and maintaining group accounting standards.
• Provide professional and disciplinary leadership to a team of six accountants.
• Ensure reliable monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Serve as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and authorities.
• Develop and automate accounting processes and systems.

Required profile

• Degree in finance or accounting, or a qualified accountant certification.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience in group consolidation and supporting multiple entities.
• Strong written and spoken English.
