Scheme Compliance Analyst – Visa & Mastercard (Latvia)

About the role

We are seeking a Scheme Compliance Analyst to support our payment operations and ensure ongoing compliance with card‑scheme rules, regulatory requirements, acquiring‑partner policies, and internal risk standards. The role works closely with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Fraud, Underwriting, and technical teams, focusing on Visa and Mastercard scheme compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor ongoing compliance with Visa, Mastercard and acquiring‑partner rules and operating regulations.
• Review scheme notifications, rule changes and assess their impact on the business.
• Monitor merchant portfolios for fraud, chargebacks, disputes and scheme threshold breaches.
• Track and manage Visa and Mastercard monitoring programs and remediation requirements.
• Investigate scheme compliance alerts, violations and merchant activity concerns.
• Support merchant onboarding and ongoing monitoring from a scheme‑compliance perspective.
• Review merchant websites, business models, MCC classifications and transaction patterns.
• Assist with 3DS/SCA compliance, authorization requirements and other card‑processing controls.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in card payments, acquiring, fintech compliance, fraud or chargebacks.
• Practical knowledge of Visa and Mastercard rules and operating frameworks.
• Understanding of the acquiring ecosystem, including merchants, processors and payment facilitators.
• Familiarity with 3DS, SCA, PCI DSS, card‑not‑present transactions and recurring payments.
• Strong analytical ability to investigate unusual transaction or merchant activity.
