Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead application modernization initiatives, transforming legacy mainframe systems into cloud‑native solutions on GCP. The role involves designing data architectures, collaborating with distributed engineering teams, and communicating with client stakeholders in a consulting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and lead the re‑architecture of legacy and mainframe‑class applications into Java, Go, or .NET on GCP.
• Design and implement data solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain business criticality of legacy systems and proposed modernizations.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization and re‑architecting legacy systems.
• Consulting or professional services experience with client‑facing project delivery.
• Experience with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
• Strong requirements gathering and test‑driven design skills.
