About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the full‑cycle accounting function of a fast‑growing car‑rental platform. The role combines day‑to‑day transaction processing with strategic development of accounting policies and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Organise, manage and continuously improve full‑cycle accounting and tax reporting in line with Latvian regulations.
• Lead and develop the accounting team.
• Design and maintain internal control systems and accounting policies.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of journal entries and financial transactions.
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Control general ledger, reconciliation processes and data integrity.
• Prepare financial and management reports for decision‑making.
• Supervise tax accounting and timely filing of mandatory financial and tax statements.
• Support external audit activities and prepare the annual report.
• Coordinate with external payroll and ERP service providers.

Required profile

• Higher education in finance, accounting or business administration.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a chief accountant or equivalent senior accounting role.
• Strong attention to detail, high sense of responsibility and ability to handle large volumes of information.
• Proactive, flexible and able to adapt quickly in a dynamic, multitasking environment.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
