Financial Crime Solutions Consultant

About the role

You will join EY's rapidly growing Financial Crime Solutions team, working on projects for leading banks across the Baltics, Nordics, Western, Central & Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The role blends direct communication with senior bank management, problem‑solving, hands‑on development of new solutions and extensive use of data and technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Execute data‑analytics tasks and document results, meeting agreed deadlines and quality standards.
• Conduct independent research using FinCrime knowledge, delivering clear observations and recommendations.
• Design, develop, document and validate FinCrime solutions such as Transaction Monitoring systems, Sanctions Screening, Customer Risk Rating models and enterprise‑wide risk assessments covering AML, TPF, sanctions and fraud.
• Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources to generate insights aligned with project milestones.
• Produce reports with visual representations and compelling storylines.
• Manage one or more projects or solutions, ensuring high quality and effective time management.
• Continuously enhance expertise in SQL, R, Python and AML/TPF/Sanctions/Fraud domains.

Required profile

• Experience in the banking sector within FinCrime (AML, TPF, sanctions, fraud) is highly desired.
• Hands‑on experience with Transaction Monitoring, Customer Risk Rating or Sanctions Screening is an advantage.
• Excellent English; German or Russian language skills are a plus.
• Educational background in Finance, Business, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics or IT.
• Passion for data analytics and the ability to combine data with business insights.
• Prior experience at a Big 4 firm is considered an advantage.
