Electronics Hardware Engineer

About the role

Ubiquiti’s Riga office is seeking an Electronics Hardware Engineer to join the UniFi product team. You will contribute to the design, validation, and production of networking hardware such as Ethernet switches, gateway routers, access points, and cameras that serve a global customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Design and verify electronic PCBs, addressing hardware, software, firmware, mechanical, thermal, and acoustic considerations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including layout, component, firmware, mechanical, power, thermal, QA, and project management—to deliver cost‑efficient, high‑quality hardware.
• Lead hardware design audits, NPI activities, manufacturing definition with OEM/CM partners, and define testing criteria.
• Support product life‑cycle stages from New Product Introduction (NPI) through mass production (MP) to End‑of‑Life (EOL).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in consumer electronics or embedded systems design, prototype bring‑up, debugging, and DFx (design for cost, test, manufacturing).
• Proven ability to lead hardware design projects and work with international R&D teams.

Required skills

• PCB design tools such as Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, or PADS.
• Analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with SOCs/MCUs, power management, DC/DC converters, and PoE.
• Knowledge of RF fundamentals, ESD/EMI immunity, surge protection, and RF desense.
• Familiarity with communication protocols: I2C, UART, SPI, Ethernet, USB.
