Food Technologist Internship

About the role

This 6‑month internship offers hands‑on experience in fish‑can production at a leading Latvian manufacturer. You will work on the full production cycle, from raw fish preparation to final product packaging, gaining insight into modern food technology processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in fish cleaning, filleting, thermal treatment and packaging.
• Learn and follow quality standards throughout the production line.
• Support team members with daily tasks, especially junior colleagues.
• Compare production output with specifications and report deviations.
• Analyse personal work efficiency to maximise productivity.
• Participate in data collection, process improvement and production analytics where applicable.

Required profile

• Age 18‑29 and enrolled in or graduated from a food‑production related programme (e.g., chef, production technician, food technologist).
• Strong manual dexterity, responsibility, precision and willingness to work with routine processes.
• Motivation to develop a career in food manufacturing and progress to senior technical roles.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to plan work time.
• Proficiency in Latvian and English.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Navision (or similar ERP systems).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
