About the role

The Security Department of the Building Infrastructure Management is responsible for the physical protection of Latvijas Banka’s premises, incident handling, fire safety and civil protection compliance. You will lead a professional team and drive the development and continuous improvement of the bank’s physical security.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Security Department, set priorities and ensure achievement of departmental goals.
• Manage physical security risks, assess emerging threats and implement appropriate security measures.
• Monitor developments in physical security, evaluate new technologies and solutions, and introduce them where suitable.
• Direct incident management and coordinate actions during high‑threat situations.
• Oversee fire safety, civil protection activities and related external services.
• Coordinate cooperation with state institutions and internal bank units on security matters.
• Develop and keep up‑to‑date security plans, procedures, instructions and related documentation.
• Participate in procurement and contract processes, define technical and security requirements, evaluate offers and monitor contract performance.

Required profile

• Higher education in security, internal affairs, military, management, law or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in physical security, guarding, internal affairs or a related area, including leadership experience.
• Proven experience in team management, work organisation and employee development.
• Strong knowledge of physical‑security risk and incident management, fire‑safety and civil‑protection requirements.
• Ability to analyse risks, make justified decisions and organise actions in incident or high‑threat situations.
• Excellent collaboration skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Capability to lead change, communicate its necessity and involve the team.
• Interest in security trends, new threats, technologies and protection solutions.
• Fluent Latvian and English (spoken and written) for communication with foreign partners.
