Deputy Chief Technology Officer – Trading Firm

About the role

The Deputy CTO partners with the CTO to run day‑to‑day global engineering operations for a fast‑growing digital‑asset market maker. You will own engineering delivery, operational resilience, budget and regulatory compliance, allowing the CTO to focus on long‑range AI strategy and external representation.

Key responsibilities

• Run global engineering cadence, own OKRs, monthly business reviews and delivery pipelines.
• Lead the multi‑year consolidation of trading infrastructure across 80+ venues and 1,400+ markets, delivering a minimum viable product with lower latency.
• Own execution of security and regulatory commitments (MiCA, DORA, SOC 2) and embed controls‑by‑design in engineering culture.
• Manage the global engineering budget, vendor relationships and M&A integrations while mentoring divisional VPs and scaling teams in Europe and the US.

Required profile

• Proven ability to design and run engineering operating models for global teams.
• Comfortable challenging senior architects and making decisive trade‑offs under constraints.
• Exceptional executive communication translating technical risk, budgets and timelines for the Board.
• Expertise turning high‑level security strategies into everyday compliant engineering workflows.
