Black Hawk Field Technician

About the role

SAIC is seeking a Black Hawk Field Technician to be based at Lielvarde Air Base in Latvia. The role supports the Black Hawk Aircrew Trainer (BAT) program, delivering high‑level technical assistance, system integration, and field service engineering for a 5‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for BAT hardware, software, and network components at the assigned location.
• Assist with emplacement, initialization, and configuration of BAT systems.
• Advise customers on BAT capabilities and limitations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across hardware, software, and tactical networks.
• Gather and relay performance feedback to program leadership.
• Perform operator and maintainer tasks on equipment, subsystems, and integrated software.
• Deliver on‑site training as required and support the program help desk.
• Conduct scheduled equipment inventories.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience, or four years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Field operator training and experience with tactical networks.
• Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks under high‑pressure conditions.
• Self‑starter who can work independently and meet short‑term deadlines.
• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Required skills

• Black Hawk avionics experience.
• Aviation Simulation Technician Level III or IV.
• Expertise in troubleshooting computer systems and networks.
• Knowledge of tactical network architectures.
