Automotive Application Engineer – Edge AI Solutions

About the role

Axelera AI seeks a hands‑on Automotive Application Engineer to validate and adapt its full‑stack edge‑AI solution for automotive market requirements. You will translate market and customer needs into testable criteria, run benchmarks on real automotive use‑cases, and help shape the product roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Translate market and customer requirements into evaluation criteria and maintain a requirements‑versus‑capability view across releases.
• Define and execute benchmarks for ADAS perception, surround‑view, BEV occupancy, DMS/OMS, and sensor‑fusion workloads, including performance, latency and accuracy metrics.
• Port, quantize and optimise automotive AI workloads onto Axelera silicon, building reproducible benchmark suites under realistic conditions.
• Identify gaps between the current stack and automotive expectations (toolchain, runtime, OS integration, determinism) and prototype integrations for Linux/QNX, AUTOSAR Adaptive, Android Automotive OS, ROS 2.
• Contribute to safety‑qualified software stacks (ASIL‑B/ASIL‑D) and assess integration effort for Tier‑1/OEM partners.
• Own technical work packages in collaborative R&D projects and automotive consortia, delivering demonstrators and aligning work with internal road‑maps.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of experience in embedded software or application engineering within automotive or automotive semiconductor domains.
• Hands‑on experience with safety‑qualified development (ASIL‑B/ASIL‑D) and ISO 26262 requirements.
• Proficiency in embedded Linux (and exposure to QNX or AUTOSAR) and board bring‑up, driver development, and BSP creation.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel (~15 % of the time) for consortium meetings and partner labs.
