Air Freight Manager – Latvia & Baltic Region

About the role

Spedman Global Logistics is seeking an experienced, commercially‑minded Air Freight Manager to develop its air freight business across Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. You will combine operational freight forwarding duties with customer development and commercial activities to grow the regional air cargo portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound air freight enquiries, analyse customer requirements and propose suitable solutions.
• Negotiate freight rates, secure cargo space and optimise routing based on cost, transit time and reliability.
• Coordinate pickup, trucking, warehousing and final delivery, working closely with airports and handling agents.
• Prepare and verify all air freight documentation, including AWB/HAWB/MAWB, commercial invoices, packing lists and customs paperwork.
• Manage export and import customs clearance, ensuring compliance with trade regulations and aviation security.
• Track shipments, communicate status updates to customers and resolve operational exceptions.
• Prepare quotations, calculate margins, verify supplier invoices and ensure accurate customer billing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, identifying new business opportunities in the Baltic market.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in air freight forwarding, with strong knowledge of import/export operations.
• Good understanding of the Latvian freight forwarding market; experience in other Baltic markets is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Latvian; additional Baltic languages are advantageous.
• Commercially driven, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
