Accountant – Payroll & Tax

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Riga. The role involves managing payroll, tax reporting, accounting activities and supporting month‑end and year‑end closing while improving finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly payroll process, including calculations, reporting and statutory submissions.
• Prepare VAT, Corporate Income Tax and Natural Resources Tax declarations in line with Latvian legislation.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Review vendor records, expense reports and bank payments.
• Assist the Chief Accountant with daily accounting activities.
• Contribute to process optimisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of relevant accounting experience, including payroll and tax reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Latvian accounting and tax legislation.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Higher education or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Fluent Latvian and good English.
• Experience with SAP, Jumis People, accounting software testing or system implementation is an advantage.
