SAP MDG Technical Architect – Material Master Data

About the role

We are seeking an SAP MDG Technical Architect / SME to design and deliver a robust Material Master Data solution. You will translate functional requirements into scalable technical designs, ensuring high‑quality governance, workflow, and data‑quality standards across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end technical delivery of SAP MDG for Material Master Data.
• Convert functional specifications into MDG technical designs and system configuration.
• Define and implement Change Request (DCR) processes for material data.
• Design workflows and develop BRF+ rules to enforce governance and approvals.
• Extend MDG data models and create custom developments with a clean‑core approach.
• Architect and build integrations with SAP S/4HANA and non‑SAP systems using APIs, IDocs, and web services.
• Assess technical feasibility, propose alternatives, and communicate trade‑offs.
• Set and enforce technical quality standards for stability, scalability, and performance.
• Implement data‑quality rules and monitor accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Guide technical decisions in design authority forums and support testing cycles.
• Create training materials and enable users and technical teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with SAP MDG/MDM, focusing on Material Master data.
• Strong background in data governance, data modeling, and data‑quality management.
• Proven ability to design workflows and BRF+ rules.
• Experience integrating SAP MDG with SAP S/4HANA and external systems.
• Solid ABAP development skills for custom enhancements.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1) and strong documentation/training capabilities.
