DevOps Engineer

About the role

You will join a dynamic team of about 20 German‑ and English‑speaking colleagues responsible for application operations, security and lifecycle management. The role covers end‑to‑end ownership of cloud‑native applications, incident handling and continuous improvement of reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Take end‑to‑end ownership of applications, from setup to monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Handle incidents, service requests, account orders and customer onboarding.
• Improve application reliability and performance through automation and optimisation.
• Contribute to infrastructure building and maintenance, including VMs, Kubernetes clusters and CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate user administration, certificate management, monitoring and logging.
• Evaluate and implement AI use cases while ensuring secure data handling.
• Conduct threat modelling, develop security concepts and perform data classification.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and data‑protection requirements.
• Optionally act as Security Champion, collaborating with architects and auditors.
• Support roadmap discussions, technical assessments and drive standardisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux, Kubernetes and CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
• Understanding of IT security, compliance and strong troubleshooting skills in complex VM, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Proactive working style with a strong sense of ownership.
• Nice to have: CKAD certification, experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana), IAM integration (SAML, LDAP, Active Directory), scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and AI‑assisted development or operations tools.
