About the role

The Financial Technology Supervision Department of the Bank of Latvia is seeking a Supervision Expert to support the oversight of crypto‑asset service providers. This position focuses on market analysis, regulatory compliance, and licensing support, without involvement in AML monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct prudential supervision of crypto‑asset service providers.
• Analyse financial data and reports of market participants on a regular basis.
• Prepare conclusions and opinions on compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in the assessment of business models and support the licensing process.
• Provide regulatory and supervisory advice to market participants.

Required profile

• University degree in economics or financial management.
• At least two years of professional experience in financial audit or audit of financial institutions.
• Understanding of crypto‑asset service provider activities, the MiCA regulation and related compliance.
• Experience in corporate financial analysis and risk‑management matters.
• Strong command of English for working with EU institution documents and consulting market participants.

Required skills

• Knowledge of crypto‑asset services and related regulatory frameworks (MiCA).
• Ability to analyse financial statements and assess risk.
