Senior Compliance Officer – Regulatory Focus

About the role

Paybis is expanding its global compliance footprint and seeks a Senior Compliance Officer with a regulatory focus. You will be at the centre of drafting regulator‑ready policies, frameworks and application materials, while supporting AML/CFT and sanctions compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and maintain internal policies, procedures, risk assessments, control descriptions and governance documents.
• Contribute to licence applications and regulatory projects, including business plans, AML/CFT frameworks and safeguarding descriptions.
• Prepare and coordinate responses to regulatory requests for information, comments from external counsel and supervisory authorities.
• Provide compliance advice on new products, partners, jurisdictions, outsourcing arrangements and business model changes.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess impact and translate new requirements into practical policy and process updates.
• Conduct compliance gap analyses, thematic reviews, risk assessments and coordinate remediation activities.
• Support regulatory reporting, notifications, audits and inspections, and track implementation of regulatory commitments.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in AML, CFT, sanctions or regulatory compliance within a fintech or financial services environment.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality, regulator‑ready documentation independently.
• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams including Legal, Product, Operations, Finance, Risk and Information Security.
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
