About the role

This position is for a registered nurse in the Cardiac Surgery Anesthesia and Intensive Care Department of a leading university hospital in Latvia. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and document patients' health status.
• Deliver patient‑centered care tailored to individual needs and conditions.
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within your competence.
• Ensure safe medication administration and continuously monitor patient responses.
• Provide emergency assistance when required.
• Operate and supervise intensive‑care equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps and ventilators.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and ongoing care.

Required profile

• General nursing education (preferably with competence in anesthesia and intensive care).
• Registration in the national medical personnel register.
• Ability to react quickly in emergency situations.
• High level of precision, responsibility and professional attitude.
• Team player who can also organize work independently.
• Proficiency with medical technologies and hospital information systems.
• Knowledge of the state language as required by law.

Required skills

• Operation of ventilators, infusion pumps and patient‑monitoring devices.
• Use of hospital information systems for documentation and data management.
• Basic competence in anesthesia and intensive‑care procedures.
