Lead Android Engineer (EMEA Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior/lead Android Engineer to design and build high‑performance Android applications that connect to a decentralized cloud platform. The role is fully remote within EMEA time zones and involves close collaboration with backend, infrastructure and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Android apps using Kotlin, following modern architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• Integrate apps with distributed backend services, ensuring data synchronization, offline support and network resilience.
• Optimize performance, memory usage and battery consumption, and implement mobile security best practices.
• Own the full mobile lifecycle from development through Play Store deployment, including CI/CD and release processes.
• Mentor team members, conduct code reviews and drive engineering standards.

Required profile

• 5‑6+ years of experience as a senior or lead Android engineer.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and Android SDK, with deep knowledge of performance optimization and lifecycle management.
• Proven experience with modern Android architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and asynchronous programming (Coroutines, Flow).
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and using data persistence solutions such as Room or SQLite.
• Ability to work in Agile teams and influence technical direction.
