Junior Finance Specialist

About the role

Join Nexpay’s fast‑growing fintech team in Riga as a Junior Finance Specialist. You will support daily payment operations, ensure accurate reconciliations, and help implement new payment features in a dynamic, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor incoming and outgoing payment queues (SEPA SCT, SEPA Instant, SWIFT, internal transfers) and adhere to cut‑off times.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, returns, and rejections in coordination with banks, clients, and internal teams.
• Perform daily reconciliations between payment systems, correspondent accounts, and internal ledgers.
• Assist with end‑of‑day settlement checks to guarantee all transactions are correctly booked and balanced.
• Support testing and documentation of new payment features or system changes.
• Maintain operational records and contribute to periodic reporting on payment volumes, error logs, and reconciliation outcomes.
• Communicate professionally with clients and partner banks regarding payment statuses and corrections.

Required profile

• Ongoing or completed studies in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
• Analytical thinking with a willingness to learn operational processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Team‑oriented mindset and ability to work in a structured environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Basic understanding of banking and payment operations (SEPA, SWIFT) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Excel.
• Experience using Office 365 tools.
• Familiarity with SEPA payment schemes.
• Familiarity with SWIFT payment messaging.
