Head of Risk

About the role

Paybis is seeking a Head of Risk to own the enterprise risk function across its global fintech operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as a proactive, decision‑oriented risk partner, shaping risk strategy and ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting rapid product development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and evolve the enterprise risk framework, including risk register, appetite statement, taxonomy and escalation policy.
• Lead DORA ICT risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery planning and meet the January 2027 regulatory deadline.
• Oversee B2B partner risk, fraud risk appetite, capital adequacy under MiCA and PSD2, and product‑launch risk gating.
• Drive the risk reporting cycle to senior leadership and regulators (Latvian Bank, FCA, FinCEN).
• Chair or co‑chair the risk committee, setting agenda, cadence and decision authority.
• Promote a risk‑ownership culture across all business units and manage third‑party/vendor risk.

Required profile

• Senior leader with extensive experience in enterprise risk management, preferably in fintech or regulated financial services.
• Proven ability to operate at the intersection of regulatory complexity and commercial speed.
• Strong track record of establishing risk appetite, governance and delivering risk outcomes in a self‑funded environment.
