Field Engineer – Desktop Support (Riga)

About the role

AVASO Technology is looking for a Field Engineer to deliver on‑site desktop support to end users in Riga. You will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support for desktops, laptops and peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network problems.
• Install, configure and maintain operating systems, updates and software packages.
• Manage user accounts, group policies and security settings via Active Directory.
• Perform system imaging and software deployment using tools such as SCCM or MDT.
• Conduct routine system audits and keep devices secure and up‑to‑date.
• Document incidents, create technical guides and deliver end‑user training.
• Collaborate with the internal IT team and handle support tickets efficiently.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in desktop support or a similar role.
• Strong communication skills in English and Latvian.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with ITIL incident, problem and change management processes.

Required skills

• Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Active Directory user and group management.
• Remote desktop tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• MS Office Suite and other productivity software.
• Hardware diagnostics, repair and component replacement.
• System imaging and deployment tools (SCCM, MDT).
• CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification.
• Experience with cloud applications (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
• Knowledge of IT security best practices.
