Embedded Software Developer – UAV Systems

About the role

Redwire Corporation is looking for an Embedded Software Developer to join its UAV and defense technology team. You will design, develop, and test firmware for microcontroller‑based systems used in autonomous aerial vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller platforms.
• Design real‑time applications using an RTOS.
• Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
• Integrate and customize PX4 or ArduPilot autopilot software.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless software‑hardware integration.
• Diagnose and resolve system issues and bugs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience with microcontrollers and RTOS environments.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, CAN communication protocols.
• Preferred experience with PX4 or ArduPilot autopilot software.
• Fluency in English and ability to work effectively in a team.
