About the role

The Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia is seeking a motivated leader to head the Data Processing, Analysis and Dissemination Division. You will guide a team that underpins national economic statistics and supports evidence‑based decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the division’s work on data processing, analysis and dissemination.
• Ensure calculation, analysis and publication of statistical indicators in line with the European System of Accounts requirements.
• Improve data processing, quality control and statistical information preparation processes.
• Coordinate and promote methodological development within your area of competence.
• Participate in strategic projects and modernisation of statistical processes.
• Represent the agency in national and international institutions, working groups and collaborative projects.
• Develop team capacity, foster knowledge transfer and maintain high work quality.

Required profile

• Academic or second‑level professional degree in economics, statistics, IT, financial analysis or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in statistics, economics or data analytics; experience in public administration is desirable.
• Proven experience in team leadership.
• Understanding of data processing, analysis and quality assurance principles.
• Knowledge of European System of Accounts methodology and national financial statistics is a plus.
• English proficiency at least B2 level (spoken and written) for international collaboration.
• Compliance with civil service eligibility requirements.

Required skills

• MS Office suite.
• SQL, R or Python for data handling and analysis.
