Data Engineering Lead for MarTech (Azure Databricks)

About the role

Are you an experienced Data Engineer with strong Databricks expertise ready to step into people leadership? We are looking for a motivated Data Engineering Lead to build and develop our new MarTech Data Engineering Team, delivering reliable data products and services on Azure Databricks.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead a distributed team of data engineers across the Nordic countries and Latvia.
• Support professional growth, engagement, and development of chapter members.
• Set high standards for data ownership, quality, reliability, and delivery.
• Promote engineering principles such as reusability, automation, testing, security, and scalability.
• Enable engineers to architect, build, and operate cost‑efficient, production‑grade data products, pipelines, and lakehouse services.
• Establish chapter‑wide practices covering data quality, governance, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Several years of end‑to‑end data engineering experience, preferably in a lead role within a large‑scale cloud environment.
• Passion for coaching, mentoring and helping engineers grow.
• Strong understanding of Agile development and continuous improvement.
• University degree in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
