Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to design, build and maintain robust, scalable data infrastructure that supports our fast‑growing fintech business. You will work closely with analytic engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to turn raw data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and iterate data models and schemas, and build ETL/ELT pipelines for large‑volume data processing.
• Implement and maintain scalable data architectures and pipeline orchestration using cloud technologies, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring and validation processes to guarantee accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, analysts and business teams to deliver data solutions that meet requirements.
• Stay current with emerging data technologies, propose and implement improvements to our data infrastructure.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with data at scale and solving complex data challenges.
• Writes clean, maintainable, efficient code and pays attention to detail.
• Enjoys collaborating across diverse teams and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Thinks critically, troubleshoots complex data issues and optimises system performance.
• Owns their work, proactively seeks improvements and is eager to learn in a fast‑paced fintech environment.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Python programming (or similar data‑engineering language).
• Google Cloud Platform services – BigQuery, CloudSQL, Dataflow, Pub/Sub.
• Apache Airflow (or similar workflow orchestration tools).
• Version control with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data models.
