Software QA Engineer (Optronics R&D)

About the role

Redwire Corporation is seeking a detail‑oriented Software QA Engineer to join its Optronics R&D team in Riga. You will ensure the quality, reliability and performance of software that powers autonomous UAVs and advanced electro‑optical surveillance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review and improve QA processes and testing methodologies.
• Perform functional, regression, integration and release testing.
• Create, maintain and execute test plans, cases and scenarios.
• Analyze software requirements to define test coverage.
• Validate new features, bug fixes and software releases.
• Track, document and report defects using Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners and engineering teams.
• Support continuous improvement of QA practices and maintain testing documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Solid understanding of the software development life‑cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
• Experience with test‑management and defect‑tracking tools, preferably Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good command of English.
• Experience with automated testing tools and Agile environments is a plus.
